This residential town was first developed as a lake resort and is often referred to as a “fishing cabin community” due to the abundance of fishing opportunities along the lakes. An assortment of parks along the lake offers plenty of fishing opportunities, among other water activities.
This predominantly residential town is full of charming homes situated along the lake or farther back on large, tree-filled lots. Choose from custom-built homes on the water with private docks for your water crafts, plenty of windows to allow in the natural light and beauty, and quiet serenity, or situate yourself in a traditional Texas-style ranch near one of the 20-plus parks in town. This community offers the best of both worlds and plenty of options for those that call it home.

The parks provide lake access to residents and offer a variety of outdoor recreation; whether fishing on the lake or hiking one of the many trails, you’re guaranteed to find something you enjoy. In addition, the town offers community events throughout the year that continue to showcase just how family-friendly this small town is. Participate in the Veteran’s Celebration or enjoy an afternoon at the Farmer’s Market milling about with friends and neighbors before heading home.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Though Granite Shoals is predominantly residential, there are still several dining and shopping choices within the community. Several supermarkets, convenience stores, landscaping supply stores, and more fill the area for your daily needs. Most residents fulfill their shopping needs in the neighboring town of Marble Falls.
A few dining options are situated in the town and offer exceptional food and services. La Cabana Restaurant is a family-run restaurant that promises some of the best tacos you’ll ever enjoy, while Antojitos Mex offers fresh-made food and a quaint, laidback atmosphere. Nelly’s Homemade Ice Cream is a resident favorite and community staple, offering a selection of delicious ice cream in various flavors.
Things to Do
Outdoor lovers rejoice in Granite Shoals, with an astounding number of parks and Lake Lyndon B. Johnson; outdoor recreation is in full force here. Enjoy an afternoon of caving or spelunking, or set your sights higher and take an air tour of the area. Quarry Park is next to City Hall and is the starting point for the Manzano Hike, Bike, and Run Trail. During the holidays, the town displays Christmas lights along the Northwest corner of North Phillips Ranch Road, with a display lighting featuring Santa Claus. Many other events are sponsored throughout the year, including an annual Easter egg hunt, trunk-or-treating, national night out, and more.
The highlight is the annual GraniteFest, a signature event that brings the community together for plenty of food, fun, and entertainment. This event brings together art, culture, music, food, and much more for everyone to enjoy. This small town is packed full of heart, and the community knows how to bring its residents together to enjoy life.
